A new chapter for animation in Spain is underway. DNEG / Prime Focus Studios has partnered with the Spanish Government’s SETT Fund to invest in and develop Canary Islands-based animation studio Anima Kitchent, creating the region’s largest and most technologically advanced CG animation studio.
The partnership will initially produce at least three animated feature films over the next five years, equating to a production volume of more than $100 million.
Led by Prime Focus Group company ReDefine Originals, the initiative will bring advanced animation technology, production expertise and creative talent to the region while creating hundreds of new jobs and opportunities across Spain's animation sector.
The investment reflects Prime Focus Studio’s continued focus on expanding its global animation and original content capabilities, creating new opportunities for creative collaboration, IP development, and storytelling across global markets.
