Following the worldwide success of [The Garfield Movie](https://173989-prime-focus-studios-git-p2-staging-midnight-studio-io.vercel.app/projects/the-garfield-movie?__vercel_draft=1), Prime Focus Studios is proud to return as co-producer of the sequel, partnering once again with Alcon Entertainment. 

Chris Pratt will reprise his role as the voice of everyone’s favourite orange feline, with Sony Pictures distributing. The first film, which released in May 2024, earned over $275 million worldwide and brought Jim Davis’ beloved comic strip icon to a new generation. With that momentum, the sequel promises to serve up more of Garfield’s signature sarcasm, charm, and unapologetic appetite.

DNEG Animation is also back as exclusive animation partner, building on the creative momentum of the original film.

# __Bringing the Timeless Tale of Ramayana to Life on a Global Scale__

The legendary battle between good and evil is being reborn for the big screen! Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana, a saga rooted in Indian mythology which is inspiring a new cinematic universe, has revealed its Global Title Launch, giving fans across the globe a first look at this reimagining of one of the world’s greatest epics.

From the mind of filmmaker and producer Namit Malhotra, Ramayana is being filmed for IMAX with Prime Focus Studios producing in collaboration with Monster Mind Creations. Nitesh Tiwari directs this ambitious two-part movie series, which boasts a powerhouse ensemble cast, including Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana. 

Adding to the grandeur, the film features the first-ever collaboration between Oscar-winning composers Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman, who craft a powerful score that blends East and West. The mythic world of ancient India is being envisioned by production designers Ravi Bansal (*Dune: Part Two, Aladdin*) and Ramsey Avery (*Captain America, Tomorrowland*), while the action sequences are choreographed by Terry Notary (*Avengers, Planet of the Apes*) and Guy Norris (*Mad Max: Fury Road, Furiosa*).

With myth, music, and modern storytelling converging, Ramayana marks a step forward in Prime Focus Studios’ mission to tell stories that transcend borders and resonate across cultures.

'The Garfield Movie' Hits Theatres Today!

## Red, Chuck, Silver, and Bomb are catapulting into their next adventure!

Paramount Pictures announced today that it will theatrically distribute *The Angry Birds Movie 3* on January 29, 2027!

Rovio and SEGA will produce alongside Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios, and in partnership with Flywheel Media, One Cool Group, and dentsu.

*The Angry Birds Movie 3* is directed by John Rice (*The Angry Birds Movie, Beavis & Butt-Head Do the Universe*) with a screenplay by Thurop Van Orman (*The Angry Birds Movie 2, The Marvellous Misadventures of Flapjack*), who is also executive producing alongside Toru Nakahara (*Sonic the Hedgehog*).

The film is produced by John Cohen (*Despicable Me, The Garfield Movie*), Dan Chuba (*The Mitchells vs. the Machines*), and Carla Connor (*The Willoughbys*). And Grammy Award-winning musician and composer Heitor Pereira (*Despicable Me, The Minions Movie, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish*), who has scored all of the previous Angry Birds films, is returning to score the movie.

Casting-wise, Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Rachel Bloom, and Danny McBride reprise their roles as Red, Chuck, Silver, and Bomb. New cast members include Emma Myers, Keke Palmer, Tim Robinson, Lily James, Marcello Hernandez, Walker Scobell, Sam Richardson, Anna Cathcart, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Nikki Glaser, James Austin Johnson and Psalm West.

We are pleased to share that Rovio Entertainment Ltd., SEGA, and DNEG CEO Namit Malhotra’s production company Prime Focus Studios have started production on The Angry Birds Movie 3, in association with Flywheel Media, One Cool Group, and dentsu.

With DNEG Animation serving as animation partner, The Angry Birds Movie 3 will be directed by John Rice (*Angry Birds, Beavis and Butt-Head Do The Universe*) and continue to follow the adventures of Red and Chuck, voiced once again by Jason Sudeikis (*Ted Lasso*) and Josh Gad (*Frozen*).

Building on the success of the Angry Birds franchise at the global box office – which saw the first film opening at #1 in 50 countries on its release in 2016 – *The Angry Birds Movie 3* is Prime Focus Studios’ latest co-production, following the recent release of *The Garfield Movie*. Prime Focus Studios is also currently in production on *Animal Friends* with Legendary Entertainment and Ryan Reynold’s *Maximum Effort*, and Indian epic *Ramayana* with actor-producer Yash’s Monster Mind Creations.

# Filmmakers join forces to bring ‘greatest story ever told’ to global audiences

We are thrilled to announce that Indian superstar actor-producer Yash (known for *K.G.F: Chapter 2*, the fourth-highest grossing Indian film of all time) and his production company Monster Mind Creations are joining the team that are bringing the epic Indian saga *Ramayana* to life.

DNEG CEO Namit Malhotra’s production company Prime Focus Studios and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations have joined forces to create the definitive version of *Ramayana* for global audiences. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari (known for *Dangal* – the highest grossing Indian film of all time), and with DNEG and ReDefine onboard to deliver a ‘never-before-seen’ visual spectacle, this promises to be a groundbreaking collaboration.

Superstar Yash Joins Namit Malhotra To Produce ‘Ramayana’

We are thrilled to co-produce *Animal Friends*, an upcoming road trip adventure movie featuring both live-action and animated characters, alongside Legendary Entertainment and Ryan Reynolds’ production company Maximum Effort, with DNEG as our VFX partner. 

Peter Atencio (*The Machine*) is leading the project as Director, with Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Ryan Reynolds and our very own Namit Malhotra onboard as Producers. The ensemble star studded cast, led by Ryan Reynolds, includes Jason Momoa, Vince Vaughn, Aubrey Plaza and Dan Levy. 

The film is scheduled to be released by Warner Bros. Pictures in the United States in May 2026.

‘Animal Friends’ in production at Prime Focus Studios 

We’re thrilled to confirm our involvement in the new *Garfield* movie, producing the animated feature alongside our partners at Alcon Entertainment!

The project brings aboard David Reynolds *(Finding Nemo)* as writer and Mark Dindal *(Chicken Little, The Emperor’s New Groove)* as director, and with Garfield himself voiced by none other than Chris Pratt *(Guardians of the Galaxy, Jurassic World)*. The animated feature will be distributed by Sony Pictures.
